If you're pregnant, you're probably excited to find out the gender of your little one. Now that you have your ultrasound scheduled, you'll need to prepare for the appointment. That includes taking every precaution to ensure that your ultrasound tech gets a good view of your little one's unmentionables. You see, if everything isn't just right, you're going to leave the appointment disappointed, especially if your little one never turns the right way. Don't leave your ultrasound disappointed. Use these three steps to improve your chances of finding out the gender of your little one at your next ultrasound appointment.
Start Drinking Water Early
If you're going to be having a 3D ultrasound, you'll want to start drinking water early. Don't wait until the day of your appointment to fill your bladder with water. You'll end up with a full bladder and fuzzy pictures of your little one. For clearer pictures of your baby, drink a couple extra glasses of water each day for about a week before your appointment. The added water will make it easier for your tech to get a good picture.
Drink Some Juice
If your little one is feeling particularly lazy during the ultrasound, you might not get the pictures you want. If you're feeling low on energy, chances are pretty good that your little one is too. Before you head to your ultrasound appointment, drink a glass of juice. The added sugar will amp up your energy and your little ones. For best results, bring some orange juice to the appointment with you. That way, if your little one starts decides to be uncooperative, you can give it a little boost. You might also want to bring a few snacks, just in case it takes a little longer to get the pictures you want. The snacks will also keep big brother or sister occupied if you're bringing them along.
Schedule When Your Baby's Awake and Active
As your little one gets older, you'll notice that it has specific times during the day when it's more active than others. By watching for patterns, you'll be able to determine your babies sleep schedule. You're not going to get very good ultrasound pictures, and you probably won't find out the gender of your baby, if you schedule your appointment during its normal sleep time. Try to schedule your appointment around the time when your little one is usually awake and active. If you're not sure about your little one's sleep pattern, follow it for a few days before you schedule the appointment.
